After cleaning house, resident goes out with friend before OVI arrest

Sharing is caring!

Drunken driving: Sprague Road

On Sept. 27, police observed a weaving blue vehicle, which nearly hit the squad car, traveling on Sprague Road.

As the officer began to pursue the vehicle, the driver pulled into a home’s driveway. When asked if she lived at the address, the woman, who had a faraway look in her eyes and smelled like booze, remained silent.

She did admit to having two drinks three hours before while she was cleaning a home she recently purchased from her father. Afterward, she went out with a friend.

After failing a field sobriety test, during which she admitted to being arrested for OVI before, the woman was arrested for drunken driving.

Later, the woman acknowledged that she had stopped drinking only an hour before. The officer also found a pipe with burnt residue and White Claw in the vehicle.

The woman was also charged with driving left of center, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug abuse: Akins Road

On Sept. 28, police observed a weaving blue Nissan turn from Ridge Road to Akins Road.

When asked about her driving, the Broadview Heights woman said she was tired and headed home after dropping off a friend in Cincinnati.

While talking to the driver, the officer smelled marijuana. She admitted to having some in the Nissan. During a search of the vehicle, police found a baggie of marijuana and rolling papers.

Citing her job with the local school district, the woman wasn’t happy about receiving citations for driving left of center, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
