Ryan J. Stuart is the Division A judge for the Jefferson County Court in Colorado. He was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper in July 2012 and was retained by voters in 2014. His current four-year term expires on January 7, 2019. Stuart was retained to the Jefferson County Court, Colorado with 68.2 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014.

Education

Stuart received a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, a master's in education from Harvard University, and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Career

Prior to his judicial appointment, Stuart was a district court magistrate for the 1st Judicial District. He has also served as a deputy district attorney in the same district, and an associate at Davis Graham & Stubbs and Brownstein Hyatt & Farber.

Judge Stuart was appointed to the Jefferson County Court in August, 2012. His immediately preceding position was as District Court Magistrate for the First Judicial District, Jefferson County. Judge Stuart received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Since his appointment, Judge Stuart has participated in a national program focused on handling domestic violence cases, as well as other appropriate continuing education programs. He has continued to involve himself in community service activities such as support for school/parent organizations and high school mock trial competitions.
